Well just recently I started The Rossetti Letter by Christi Phillips-again Venice and the entertwining stories about a young woman's doctorate thesis about espionage in Venice during the 1600s and a mysterious courtesan -who was forced into the "choice" " due to life's circumstances-and her role in saving Venice from Spanish occupation.

Sounds interesting? Yes but by the time I got to chapter 5 I had had enough. I put it back in my pile and went on to my final Donna Leon. I never thought of myself as a prude but I just could not get into this story.
