I thought I'd share some of my favorite sources for HP info on the web. Hopefully they can help with our discussions...and give people somewhere to waste a lot of time.
The Leaky Cauldron - This is the absolute best HP news site (in my opinion) that there is. They cover everything from book news to movie news, outside info on actors from the movie, etc.
Mugglenet - This is another news site. I don't use it ever because I prefer The Leaky Cauldron, but it's also good. They have a lot of fun extras.
JKRowling.com - This is JKR's own site, and it's AMAZING. If you haven't seen it...check it out immediately. She's so fun. Extras, biography, rumors, wizard of the months, etc. Lots of little secret surprises too.
HP Lexicon - The most extensive catalog of background info you could EVER want. I don't even know where to begin. Comprehensive lists of every single character, spell, location, animal, potions, etc.
Quick Quote Quill - Every interview with JKR that has ever been documented. You could spend days reading these...full of hints, background information, and JKR's adorable personality.
FictionAlley - This is my favorite place to find Harry Potter fanfic. I don't read it much anymore, but there are a few authors who are still writing that I've been reading religiously for 6 or 7 years. Wow, that's a long time. Anyway, for those who don't know, fanfic (short for fanfiction) is a story written by a fan using characters, settings, and situations taken from things like books, TV series, and video games. 99% of the HP fanfic floating around is total crap, but that 1% can be amazing. If anyone else reads it, or is interested in recommendations, we can start a thread about it.
FictionAlley also has a gigantic message board, for both fanfic and the canon (books actually written by JKR).
That's all I can come up with right now that are worth mentioning...does anyone have others they use frequently?
