Evelyn Tribole, Eating on the Run, 3rd ed, Human Kinetics, 2004.

At last! A book on eating well that does not assume that everyone can, or wants to make time to cook from scratch. Lots of information on how to choose healthier options from fast food and restaurant menus, freezer meals and other prepared foods from the supermarket. How to organise meals and snacks when you are busy. And - I haven't tried these yet - 60 second meals ideas.

There's also a discussion of why people undereat or overeat. I came away this this insight: I eat a lot of junk at work because going for a short walk to the cafe to buy it is an excuse to have a break from my work. I can't just give myself permission to have a break - I have to have a reason for it. I'm not sure yet what I'll do with this information, because the book is not so forthcoming with how to change one's thinking, but it's a start.
